LIFE IS HARD: LOVE AND COMPASSION ARE NECESSITIES FOR BASIC SUSTAINABILITY
with Norman Fischer

Based on Norman's recent book "Training in Compassion: Zen Teachings on the Practice of Lojong,", in turn based on a popular traditional Indo-Tibetan text, this weekend workshop will offer practical exercises for reducing self-centeredness, which comes so naturally to us, yet causes us so much pain - and developing compassion. We will study the text and engage in discussion and imaginative exercises designed to bring the material home to the particularity of our lives today.
